Many people assume that customizing figures requires expensive, specialized kits. In reality, successful modification depends on proper preparation and having the right tools at your disposal.
You might be surprised by how much difference the base material makes. If you want the Best Paints for Action Figures, you must prioritize surface compatibility before you even open a tube of color. Read on to see which supplies will actually serve your project.
Key Takeaways
- Prioritize acrylic paints specifically formulated for plastic to ensure the pigment grips the surface properly.
- Select brushes with fine, synthetic points because they hold their shape better than natural hair when handling thick paint.
- Clean every surface with a mild degreaser before painting to prevent the color from peeling later.
- Invest in high-quality primer to act as a bridge between the factory plastic and your new paint job.
- Consider the articulation points of your figure, as stiff joints will inevitably cause paint to crack during movement.
